Every track on Free Safe Music is released under a simple, free license: use it in your content — including commercial and monetized projects — with no fee and no attribution required. The only thing you can't do is resell or redistribute the raw audio itself. That's it.

You can
- ✓ Use tracks in personal and commercial content — videos, streams, podcasts, games, apps, and presentations.
- ✓ Monetize freely: YouTube (including ad revenue), Twitch streams and VODs, Spotify and Apple podcasts, TikTok, Instagram Reels, and paid ad campaigns.
- ✓ Use them in client, freelance, and agency work — deliver commissioned videos, brand content, and paid projects with our music as the soundtrack.
- ✓ Edit to fit: trim, fade, loop, layer, and mix the music into your project.
- ✓ Use across unlimited projects, forever — no per-use fee, no expiry, no download cap.
You can't
- ✕ Resell or redistribute the raw audio file on its own — e.g. uploading it to another music library, a stock-audio site, an NFT, or a “royalty-free music” pack.
- ✕ Claim that you composed, performed, or own the music, even after editing or remixing it.
- ✕ Register the music with Content ID, a distributor, or any rights-management system (doing so would falsely claim other people’s videos).
- ✕ Use it in content promoting hate, harassment, discrimination, or illegal activity.
Why it's safe to monetize
Music gets auto-claimed because it sits in a fingerprint database. Our tracks are not registered with Content ID, AdRev, or any rights-management system, and we never license the catalog to compilations, sync libraries, or distributors who could register it on their own. There is no fingerprint of this music in those systems, so there is nothing to match against your video and nothing to auto-claim your monetization.
That covers everything under our control, and it's the part that matters almost all of the time. Here is the part we can't control, stated plainly: anyone can upload audio they don't own to Content ID. Third parties do occasionally scrape free-music libraries and register other people's tracks as their own, which produces a fraudulent claim against creators using that music legitimately. No free-music library can prevent this, and any site that tells you it can is guessing. It is uncommon, it is a claim rather than a strike, and it is reversible.
Our warranty — and what we do if you get a claim
We warrant two things, and we'll stand behind them: we hold the rights to license every track here for the uses listed above, and we have not registered any of it with Content ID, AdRev, or any other rights-management system, and will not.
So if a claim appears on one of our tracks, it did not come from us and it is not valid. Contact us and we'll help you get it released. We will confirm the track is ours, give you written license documentation naming you as a licensee, and walk you through filing the dispute — YouTube's dispute form, Twitch's counter-notification, or whatever the platform requires. A dispute backed by the licensor's own paperwork is the strongest position you can be in, and claims like these are routinely released.
The fastest way to reach us is a message on our YouTube channel. Include the track name, the URL of your video, and a screenshot of the claim, and we'll turn it around as quickly as we can.
What we can't do is promise an outcome on a platform we don't control, or cover lost revenue while a dispute is pending. The music is provided free and as-is. What we can promise is that we will never be the source of a claim against you, and that we will help you fight one.
Credit (optional)
Attribution is not required. If you'd like to credit us, the simplest line is Music: freesafemusic.com in your description — but there's no on-screen or on-air credit requirement, ever.
How the music is made
Our catalog is hand-curated. Tracks may be created by independent artists or produced with AI tools — a practice that's now standard across the production-music industry. Either way, every track is reviewed and cleared before it's published here, so the license above applies to all of them.
