Why Free Safe Music
Most "free music" libraries aren't really free — they ask for an email, lock the good tracks behind a subscription, or quietly register their music with Content ID so your videos get auto-claimed the moment they start earning money. We built Free Safe Music as the opposite of that: every track is free, every track is cleared for commercial use, and nothing is registered with any rights management system.
Our catalog is curated, not crowdsourced. Every track is hand-picked and tagged so you can find what you need in under a minute — whether that's a hype trap loop for a YouTube Short, a slow ambient bed for a guided meditation, or a funky jazz track for a recipe reel. The library is small enough that it stays high-quality and large enough that you'll always find a fresh option.
We make money the boring way: our YouTube channel earns ad revenue from people who listen to the tracks as background music. That means creators using our music never pay, never sign up, and never hit a paywall. As long as YouTube exists, the catalog stays free.
Frequently asked questions
Is the music really free to use? +
Yes. Every track is free to download as a 320 kbps MP3 and cleared for commercial use — including monetized YouTube videos, Twitch streams, podcasts, ads, and client work. No signup, no email gate, no per-use payment.
Will I get a copyright claim or strike? +
You shouldn't — and if you do, we'll help you clear it. We register nothing with Content ID, AdRev, or any rights-management system, and we never license the catalog to anyone who could. So there is no fingerprint of our music in the systems that scan your video. The one thing no free-music library can prevent is a third party scraping tracks and registering them as their own. It's uncommon, and it produces a bogus claim rather than a strike. If it happens, message us on our YouTube channel with the track name and a screenshot — we'll send written license proof and help you dispute it. Full terms are on the license page.
Do I need to credit Free Safe Music? +
Credit is appreciated but not required. If you want to credit us, the simplest line is 'Music: freesafemusic.com' in your description. There is no on-screen or on-air credit requirement.
Can I use the music in client work and paid projects? +
Yes. The license covers freelance, agency, and commissioned work. You can deliver client videos, ad campaigns, brand content, and paid podcasts using our music as the soundtrack.
Can I edit, cut, loop, and remix the tracks? +
Yes. Trim, fade, loop, layer, and edit freely to fit your project. The only thing you cannot do is redistribute the music itself as a standalone audio product.
How often do you add new music? +
We add new tracks every week. Bookmark the homepage or follow our YouTube channel to catch new releases as they drop.
